Valerie Young is a co-founder of the Imposter Syndrome Institute and is considered the foremost expert on imposter syndrome. In addition to speaking at over a hundred universities in the US Canada, Japan, Europe, and the UK. Valerie has presented at many diverse organizations, such as Google Pfizer, Facebook, NASA, and many more.
Her work has been cited around the world, including in Time Magazine, Psychology Today and scientific journal articles. Valerie earned her doctoral degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she studied internal barriers to women’s achievement.
Although her research subjects consisted of a racially diverse group of professional women, much of her original findings have proved directly applicable to anyone with impostor feelings, her award-winning book, the secret thoughts of successful women, why capable people suffer from the imposter syndrome and how to thrive in spite of it is now available in six languages.
